About Tara Gita
I was raised on a farm in Indiana in the 70’s and come from very humble beginnings. I spent most of my time outdoors or in the kitchen with my Grandmother. I excelled at climbing trees, driving a tractor by 9, waterskiing at 5 and anything I set my mind to do. My mother introduced me to Yoga and a healthy lifestyle using nutrition and exercise. I loved sports, theater, baking and decorating cakes, Girl Scouts, camping, adventures…
I have had the trauma of abuse since I was a young girl. There were times of physical, mental/emotional, and sexual abuse. There was addiction and unhealthy behaviors that I experienced. Some of the patterns I took on as my own and repeated until much later in life when I decided to transmute these negative experiences into something positive.
This is the purpose of this blog, to share insights that have helped me have a happier and more fulfilling life, to inspire and bring light into the world, and hopefully help other people.
I declared to start over again, new job, new friends, leaving abuse behind.

I met my former spouse at a photo lab, and we married 18 months later and birthed two amazing daughters in the years to come. This was the year I discovered Acupuncture to treat my crippling pain and this really began my alternative medicine quest.
1997:
Started my professional wedding and portrait photography business
1998:
Founded an aviation school and managed a local flying club with my former spouse.

2005:
Daughter diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
2006:
When I was 35, I started to evaluate my life. I was going through the motions of life, but wasn’t very happy. From the outside it looked ‘normal’; 2 kids, a husband, a home based business, living in San Diego. I woke up to an inner calling, to live a life of authenticity and break out of the mold of what others thought I should be doing. I divorced in 2008 after 11 years, including 2 years of couple’s therapy. I needed to discover who I really am and how to create happiness for myself. I needed to explore my spirituality, sexuality and find my truth, my true self.
My soul craved to experience more depth of connection in my life and overcome the traumas and behaviors that no longer served me. I adventured into the esoteric teachings of Tantra and found a spiritual community to grow with for some years. I explored self development workshops, a 12 step program, CODA for 6 years, various communication/meditation workshops and events. I led several tantra events and spoke at the ISTA Sexuality and Consciousness Conference. I explored multiple relationship dynamics and have experience being in a long term relationship with multiple partners.
2011:
Bali solo trip for my 40th birthday, opened my eyes in so many ways. I fell in love with the people and the land.
2012:
I ventured on a path of Yoga Teacher Training along with Ayurveda teachings as well. I was certified as a Yoga teacher and Vedic Therapist.
2013:
Began my career in the High Tech Glass and Optics industry.

2015:
Through a Functional Medicine doctor, I was diagnosed with markers for Hoshimoto’s, a thyroid disease. Autoimmune disease has been part of my life since my daughter was diagnosed with Diabetes at age 6 in 2005.
Hormone imbalances, constant pain, brain fog, fatigue…depression and anxiety were at an all time high for me. I’ve learned many tips for eating well for the body and the taste buds!
I started to realize that food is medicine or poison, it is helping me or hurting, giving me energy or taking it. Slowly I started changing my habits, one at a time to incorporate long term shifts, instead of dieting. This was a large factor in my health improving.
Hiring a personal chef and building upon the Ayurveda training, I learned new ways to cook for my family in order to heal. I love sharing healthy, deliciously satisfying meals…even while working full time and having an active life, kids, hobbies, etc. I’ve become in tune with my body and understand the subtle ways in which it speaks to me. I know now how food and preventative maintenance habits are some of the best forms of healthcare. I understand my mind and controlling where my attention goes, is also a huge key to wellness, happiness and creating a positive life.

Music has been important in my family and for my own healing. Discovering the freedom of ecstatic dance, sound healing events, and West African drumming, changed my life. I have studied Djembe and DunDuns recently, but have been attracted to drums since I was playing drums in junior high school.
Currently I have an amazing career that allows me to travel, supporting my thriving family and community of friends. I am excited to nurture you along your path, to live your best, most authentic life. I’m here to show you that you are in control of your own wellness. The tools and resources are here to help you navigate the road to a vibrant, glowing life.
Have you always longed for more depth, connection, adventure? Do you want to learn how to be more successful in taking care of your body, mind and spirit?
I want to build a community that is open and accepting as well as help others discover their true way of living.
I strive to help create confidence and healthy lifestyles for people no matter race, gender or religion.
With Love,
